THCa Flower Pre-Roll Gary Payton

What is THCa?

THCa (tetrahydrocannabinolic acid) is a cannabinoid that has been identified to occur naturally within the cannabis plant. When heated by a flame, vaporizer, or other heat source, it decarboxylates into Delta 9. When eaten raw though, there are no euphoric effects. The human body does not get hot enough to decarboxylate THCa.

Once converted into Delta 9, this cannabinoid bonds with receptors in the endocannabinoid system. It is this interaction that produces psychoactive effects. Delta 9 THC is known for its anxiolytic (anti-anxiety), antiemetic (anti-nausea), analgesic (pain relieving), orexigenic (appetite stimulant), and neuroprotective properties.

What is THCa flower?

When tested, THCa flower has less than 0.3% Delta 9 by dry weight. It does have euphoric effects when smoked. These effects are based on the cannabinoid, terpene, and flavonoid profiles. Someone’s tolerance and physiology also play a role. Some consumers prefer higher Myrcene concentrations. Others find Linalool to create a better mood state. Some popular THCa strains include the Ice Cream Cookies strain and Grape Frosty strain.

What is a THCa Flower Pre-roll?

THCa flower pre-rolls are expertly rolled joints ready to be smoked when lit with a lighter. Most THCa flower pre-rolls are filled with a single strain of one gram of freshly ground flower. Many use hemp fibers and are cone-shaped with a cardboard filter for easy handling. Some have had THCa diamonds infused into the flower while others have been rolled in oil and then kief.

THCa vs THC Flower?

THC flower refers to marijuana in recreational and medical dispensaries. It is tested using gas chromatography and requires the flower to be heated. Potency is measured in the amount of Delta 9 present.

THCa flower is tested using liquid chromatography, which uses no heat to determine the potency of the flower, but water. The potency is measured in the amount of THCa present.

How is THCa flower made?

THCa flower is not created or manufactured. It grows naturally on the cannabis plant. Using liquid chromatography testing, researchers have proven that these flowers are high in the cannabinoid THCa.

What is Cannabis Sativa flower?

Carl Linnaeus named and classified the Cannabis Sativa plant. He found these strains are tall and spindly with thinner leaves. With a longer growth cycle, they prefer to grow in warmer climates.

Sativa strains are said to be uplifting and energizing by many, but not all agree. Experts agree that the effects of each strain are determined by the cannabinoids, terpenes, and flavonoids present. A person’s physiology also plays a big part as well. This is why two people can smoke or ingest the same strain and have different experiences.

What is Cannabis Indica flower?

In 1785, Jean-Baptiste Lamarck identified and detailed the Indica strain. He said these plants are short and bushier with thick leaves. They have a shorter growing cycle and fare better in colder climates than sativa strains.

Many say Indica strains create a strong relaxing body euphoria. While this may be true for some Indica flower strains, it is not true for all. Experts agree that the psychoactive effects of a cannabis plant are determined by the cannabinoids, terpenes, and flavonoids present, and each person’s physiology.

What is a Sativa Indica Hybrid Strain?

A true Sativa-Indica hybrid strain has 50% Indica and 50% Sativa genes. Hybrid strains result when Sativa and Indica strains crossbreed.

What is the Difference Between Indica and Sativa Strains?

Many say that Sativa strains are emotionally uplifting and energizing while Indica strains have strong relaxing euphoric effects. This is not the case for everyone. Some Indica strains can be energizing and some Sativa strains can help people sleep. The effects depend on the cannabinoid, terpene, and flavonoid profile of each strain plus each person’s physiology.

The only difference between them is how they grow. Sativa strains are taller and have thinner stalks and leaves. They have a longer growth cycle and tend to grow better in warmer climates. Indica strains are shorter and bushier with thicker leaves. They have a shorter growth cycle and fare well in colder climates.

Which is Stronger Indica or Sativa?

The potency of a cannabis plant is not determined by whether it is an Indica or a Sativa. Deciding whether an Indica or a Sativa strain is more potent is a personal opinion. The strength, or potency level, of a strain depends on the cannabinoid, terpene, and flavonoid profile, plus each person’s physiology. Some people enjoy higher Alpha-Pinene levels while others enjoy a stronger Myrcene concentration.

What is the Gary Payton Strain?

The Gary Payton strain is a highly coveted true hybrid strain. It was bred in collaboration with NBA great Gary Payton by crossing the Y and Snowman strains. This results in a fairly high THCa potency of 20% – 25%. Many report this strain to be very relaxing and can reduce anxiety and depression. The dominant terpenes in the strain are Alpha-Pinene, Linalool, and Humulene. The Gary Payton strain is said to have a long-lasting happy and energizing psychoactive effect.

What are Terpenes?

Terpenes contribute to the aroma of many plants, insects, and animals. Studies show that they can boost the benefits of cannabis because they work synergistically. There are a dozen different terpenes in cannabis, but the three most prominent ones are Myrcene, Linalool, and Alpha-Pinene.

What is Alpha-Pinene?

Alpha-pinene has a pine and slightly minty aroma. It is in pine, cedar, and sage. The Blue Dream strain and Grape Frosty strain are packed with this terpene.

What are the Benefits of Alpha-pinene?

Alpha-pinene is reported to be a natural mood stabilizer that helps to reduce anxiety. Studies have shown that this terpene could help as an anti-nausea and antioxidant.

What is Linalool?

Linalool has a sweet lavender and mint fragrance that is slightly cinnamon. It can be found in lavender, laurel, and rosewood. This amazing terpene can be found in the Sex Panther strain and Granddaddy Purple.

What are the Benefits of Linalool?

Many people report feeling energized with a tingly sensation after consuming strains with Linalool. Research has shown that his terpene promotes relaxation and enhances sleep.

What is Humulene?

Humulene has a strong smell of basil, sage, and clove. This terpene can be found in hops, ginseng, and coriander. It is in the Gold Cash strain and Ice Cream Cookies strain.

What are the Benefits of Humulene?

Many report that humulene is relaxing and assists with chronic pain relief. Studies show that Humulene may help with pain relief and reduce inflammation.

What are Flavonoids?

Flavonoids play an important role in cell cycle progression and help with seed development and growth processes. Flavonoids contribute to the aroma and taste of plants. With 6,000 different flavonoids identified in the plant kingdom, they could explain why two strains have identical terpene profiles but different effects.
