THCa Flower Pre-Roll Ice Cream Cookies

What is THCa?

THCa (tetrahydrocannabinolic acid) is the naturally occurring cannabinoid found in the cannabis plant that transforms into Delta 9. Heat is required to decarboxylate, or activate THCa, such as a flame or vaporizer. If THCa is eaten raw, there are no psychoactive effects. The human body does not get hot enough to transform it.

Once converted into Delta 9, THCa bonds with the CB1 and CB2 receptors in the endocannabinoid system to produce psychoactive effects. Delta 9 THC is known for its anxiolytic (anti-anxiety), antiemetic (anti-nausea), analgesic (pain relieving), orexigenic (appetite stimulant), and neuroprotective properties.

What is THCa flower?

Any flower from the cannabis sativa plant that tests less than 0.3% Delta 9 by dry weight is considered THCa flower. There are psychoactive effects that result from the cannabinoid, terpene, and flavonoid profiles. Each person’s physiology will also play a factor. Some consumers prefer a flower strain with a higher Ocimene concentration because of the relaxed mood state it creates. Others find Linalool to be an energizing mood state. Some popular THCa strains include Sex Panther strain, Han Solo strain, Blue Dream strain, and Gelato strain.

What is a THCa Flower Pre-roll?

A THCa flower pre-roll is a smokable joint ready to be enjoyed immediately. All that is needed is a flame. Most THCa flower pre-rolls are filled with one gram of freshly ground flower of a single strain. They are expertly filled for a slow, even burn. Many are cone-shaped with a cardboard filter which makes for easy handling. Some pre-rolls have been infused with THCa diamonds while others have been rolled in kief to boost the effects.

THCa vs THC Flower?

THC flower usually refers to marijuana sold in recreational and medical dispensaries. It is tested using gas chromatography, which requires heat to determine the potency of the flower. It is measured in the amount of Delta 9 present.

THCa flower is from the cannabis plant and is tested using liquid chromatography. This test uses no heat to determine the potency of the flower, but an ice bath. The potency of these flowers is measured in the amount of THCa present.

How is THCa flower made?

THCa flower is not created by any man-made processes. It is the naturally occurring flower on the cannabis plant. Using liquid chromatography testing, researchers have proven that these flowers are high in the cannabinoid THCa.

What is Cannabis Indica flower?

In 1785, French biologist Jean-Baptiste Lamarck identified and detailed the Indica strain after a friend gave him some samples from India. He observed that Indica plants tend to be shorter and bushier with thick leaves. They have a shorter growing cycle and fare better in colder climates than Sativa strains.

Many consumers report that Indica strains create a strong body euphoria that can be very relaxing. While this may be true for some Indica flower strains, it is not true for all Indica strains. Experts agree that the psychoactive effects of a cannabis flower are determined by the cannabinoids, terpenes, and flavonoids present, and each person’s physiology. That is why two different people can have two different experiences when inhaling or consuming the same cannabis strain.

What is the Difference Between Indica and Sativa Strains?

Sativa strains are reported to be emotionally uplifting and energizing. Indica strains are said to have strong psychoactive effects and are great for relaxation. While these statements are true for some people, they are not true for everyone. The effects depend on the cannabinoid, terpene, and flavonoid profile of each strain plus each person’s physiology. Some Indica strains can be energizing and some Sativa strains can help people sleep.

The only difference is how they grow. Indica strains tend to be shorter and bushier with thicker leaves. They have a shorter growth cycle and fare well in colder climates. Sativa strains grow taller and have thinner stalks and leaves. Their growth cycle is longer and Sativa strains tend to grow better in warmer climates.

Which is Stronger Indica or Sativa?

Deciding whether an Indica or a Sativa strain is stronger is ultimately a personal opinion. The potency strength of a strain is not dependent on whether it is an Indica or Sativa. The cannabinoid, terpene, and flavonoid profile plus someone’s physiology are the factors that matter. Some consumers prefer higher terpene levels of Beta-Caryophyllene while others enjoy the feel of a stronger Linalool concentration. It is recommended to try multiple strains to decide which is stronger.

What is the Ice Cream Cookies Strain?

The Ice Cream Cookies strain is an Indica hybrid strain that was bred by crossing Wedding Cake and Gelato 33. It has a potency that can be higher than 22%. The CBD is very low which creates a very strong psychoactive effect. This effect is reported by many to be very relaxing and can be lethargic, but the mood state is uplifting and positive. The dominant terpenes in the strain are primarily Beta-Caryophyllene followed by Limonene and Humulene. The Ice Cream Cookies strain is perfect for ending any evening and letting go of the stress of the day.

What are Terpenes?

Terpenes are organic compounds that contribute to the aroma of many plants and animals. Trees, flowers, fruits, and even insects have different terpene combinations. Studies show that terpenes help promote homeostasis within the body and work synergistically with other compounds. It has been shown that terpenes can boost the benefits of cannabis. There are about a dozen different terpenes in cannabis, but the three most prominent ones are Myrcene, Linalool, and Alpha-Pinene.

What is Beta-Caryophyllene?

Beta-caryophyllene has a sweet clove and wood aroma with a hint of pepper. It is abundant in many strains and is also found in oregano, basil, and pepper. This terpene is found in the Jokerz Candy strain and the Gold Cash strain.

What are the Benefits of Beta-Caryophyllene?

Beta-caryophyllene is reported to create an uplifted and talkative mood state. This helps reduce anxiety and stress. Studies have shown that Beta-caryophyllene can also relieve pain while reducing cholesterol.

What is Limonene?

Limonene has a strong lemony scent. This terpene is found in mint, juniper, and citrus fruits. This delicious terpene is found in the Gelato strain and Skywalker strain.

What are the Benefits of Limonene?

Enthusiasts report intense lethargy that can lead to sleepiness. Many say they felt an instant reduction in nausea. Research shows limonene can help as an anti-inflammatory and antioxidant.

What is Humulene?

Humulene has a strong basil, sage, and clove-like aroma. Besides being present in many strains, this terpene can be found in hops, ginseng, and coriander. It is found in the Ice Cream Cookies strain and Wedding Cake strain.

What are the Benefits of Humulene?

Many report that Humulene is relaxing and assists with chronic pain relief. Studies show that Humulene may help with pain relief and reduce inflammation.

What are Flavonoids?

Flavonoids are categorized as polyphenolic compounds and play an important role in cell cycle progression, which helps with seed development and growth processes. They contribute to the aroma and taste of plants. There are 6,000 identified flavonoids within the plant kingdom. A flavonoid profile difference can explain why two strains have identical terpene profiles but different effects.
